Inside Recess
When you choose recess as your installation method, we make the necessary deductions for you to ensure your blind fits beautifully (and neatly).
To fit your wooden blind inside the window recess, use the following instructions:
Step 1
Measure the Width
Measure the width of your window recess in three places:
Use the smallest measurement as your width.
Please Note: If you have obstructions within your recess e.g. tiles, measure between these two points and use this as your width measurement.
Step 2
Measure the Drop
Measure the drop of your window recess in three places:
Use the smallest measurement as your width.
Please Note: Ensure you have at least 10.5cm clearance between the front of your window recess and the edge of any obstruction.

Exact Size
Please Note: We will not make any deductions to your measurements when you select the Exact size option. Your blinds will be made exactly to the measurements you provide.
The following instructions outline how to add extra width and drop to the window space, so your wooden blinds overlap the recessed space as desired.
Step 1
Measure the Width
Decide how much blind overlap you want on each side of your window recess. Measure this width.
Please Note: To eliminate more light, we recommend your blind overlaps the window recess by at least 5cm on each side (10cm overall).
Step 2
Measure the Drop
Measure the drop from where you want the top of the blind to start and finish. This is your drop measurement.
Please Note:
We recommend your blind overlaps the top of the window recess by at least 7cm. If your windowsill protrudes more than 5cm, you should stop your blind at this point. Be aware of obstructions such as radiators when measuring your drop.

Split Blinds
To feature multiple blinds in one window follow these instructions. Splitting blinds is ideal for larger windows or windows with a defined split.
Step 1
Mark your Split Point
Use a pencil to make a small mark where you'd like to split your blinds.
Please Note:If you have a vertical window mullion or door frame, we suggest using this as your split point. Alternatively use the centre of the window you are covering.
Step 2
Please Note:To accommodate the central brackets, there will be a small gap between the blinds which will be determined on how closely you install the brackets.
Measure the Width - Recess Size
Measure between the edge of your window recess and your split point mark.
Please Note:If you have any obstructions within your recess such as tiles, measure between this and your split point mark, use this as your width measurement.
Step 3
Measure the Width - Exact Size
If you're mounting your split blinds outside the window recess, measure from your split point mark to where you want your blind to finish.
Step 3
Measure the Drop - Recess Size
Measure the drop of your window recess in three places. Use the smallest measurement as your width.
Measure the Drop - Exact Size
Measure the drop from where you want the top of the blind to start, and the bottom to finish. This is your drop measurement.
Please Note:Be aware of obstructions such as radiators when measuring your drop. If your windowsill protrudes more than 5cm, you should stop your blind at this point.
